Since Sharks no longer takes an afternoon nap, we had to come up with a new plan. So now he rests with his head on his pillow for 30-45 minutes (obviously to encourage sleep if he needs it), then when the timer beeps, he can get up and play quietly in his room for 45-60 minutes. (The times vary slightly based on the needs of the day.)
Today, however, he read Coastal Living.

That is awesome!
I seriously laughed out-loud at this! Sometimes Will read Reader's Digest.
My only question is, why do you have a subscription to Coastal Living?
Sad when they stop napping! :) But then they get better at playing alone and it seems to be a sweet time for them to play with all those toys that have 5 million pieces that would hurt the baby.
coastal living is good reading! nice choice!
Jess, we live on the coast of an awesome brown river, hence Coastal Living is totally appropriate. Ha. Really, my aunt has a subscription, which she passes on to my mom, who passes it to me.
Brite, good call - I should definitely use the time for legos and stuff like that!
